Kate graduated from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts majoring in Psychology and Sociology in 2008. She was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Tasmania in 2009 and in the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 2010. Since then, Kate has practiced exclusively in Family Law in both Perth and Hobart. Kate joined Wallace Wilkinson & Webster in April 2021 and has been a Partner of the firm since 1 July 2024.  
Kate has experience in all areas of Family Law including child related and financial matters. She regularly appears in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, where she is also appointed to act as an Independent Children’s Lawyer. Kate was first appointed to the Independent Children’s Lawyer panel in 2015.
Kate is dedicated to the early and amicable resolutions of matters and has a strong focus on mediated outcomes. In cases where the involvement of the Court is required, Kate has extensive experience in preparation of documents, representing clients at Court, and in briefing Counsel.
Kate was recognised by Doyle’s Guide as a recommended family lawyer in 2024 and 2023 and as a leading family lawyer in parenting and children’s matters in 2024.
Along with her work in private practice, Kate undertakes volunteer legal work in the community. She is a member of the Law Society of Tasmania and the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia.
